A few weeks ago we invited my two very active, octogenarian aunts to dinner with us to say goodbye to Alex as he was heading off to Queen’s. As we were eating, one of them asked me if I’d ever heard of Salvia, and commented that there were signs for it in a local corner store. They live near a busy intersection in a trendy area in midtown Toronto close to a subway station. My other aunt thought perhaps it was a brand name for ice, but first aunt said that she’d googled it and that it appeared to be some kind of herb.
Well, the CBC had the following to say yesterday: “Hallucinogenic herb sold in some Toronto shops.” I now know where to go to get the latest info on the drug scene in the city.
